AHAAAA Tip of the Week! How to Divide a Ball of Yarn in Half

This is an amazing tip from the folks over at WEBS.
  1. Weigh the full ball and write that number down so you don’t forget!
  2. Wind off your yarn until the scale reads half the original weight.
  3. Cut the yarn and you’ll have two equal balls to work from.
I received my Royal Yarn Ball Winder and Yarn Swift this past Mother's Day and, as luck would have it, I happen to own the very same scale pictured above! If you're a fan of using a double-strand for bulky knitting, like I am, then this tip is heaven sent.
(If you don't own a Yarn Ball Winder you can purchase one here via Yarn.com.) They are a bit pricey but very worth it. The hubby bought their swift and winder bundle for a great price! I would suggest buying them both at the same time. (Do I have an amazing husband or what!?!)

The Dreaded Weaving In of the Ends

Hiding Your Ends
via Yarn

Seriously my least favorite part of knitting! The dreaded weaving in of the ends! Hate! Hate! Hate to weave in my ends. I just love this tip and this site in general. Thank you WEBS for making me randomly smile :) I shall try this out on my new project... whenever I found out what that is.

Sh*t Knitters Say: Yup, Still Funny!

I am this woman! Seriously, we are destined to be besties! I really have got to meet someone this obsessed. It's the only way my husband will stay sane (since he is the person I talk yarn with) ((I know, it's sad but he listens... kinda)) I first came across this video a while back and shared it on Facebook but every now and then I catch myself re-watching it on YouTube! It just encompasses everything that goes on in a knitter's brain. Even down to the stashing of the stash! Even though I have watched it a few times, it still makes me laugh :)

P.S- I always swatch!

My New Toys: Yarn Swift and Yarn Ball Winder

My New Toys!

Im the lucky owner of a new yarn swift and ball winder! My husband gifted the items over Mother's Day, in the beginning of May, but I haven't gotten around to posting about them until now.... as I have been waaaay busy organizing my stash into little neat yarn cakes :)

It looks a bit more complicated than it is but once you get the hang of it, it's so much easier than my previous method....

D'oh!

P.S Here is a wee tutorial from Webs, which is where these were purchased :)
