We talked about Christmas knitting way back in July, but I'm afraid in between knitting for family and The Minion I have forgotten to knit myself anything for the inevitable cold weather. So here is my winter knit list:

 

A pair of cute mittens

A very warm scarf/cowl

Cute Head wrap (X 2) *My sister would like one as well. :)

and a pair of legwarmers

Now granted, I am a bit behind and have more than a few WIP's hanging around in Limbo, but I remain optimistic that I can pull off a few more projects just in time for the first frost. In fact, I think I can whip up a pair of mittens, seeing as though they are a sewing project, and a couple of head wraps, for myself and my sister, with plenty of time to get a little cowl action! As for the leg warmers, I'd love to knit up a pair, right after I buy myself a nice pair of hunter boots to go with them. A girl can dream, can't she?

Loving this Cardigan! I have managed to perfect my cabling skills last fall while knitting up some "Bella Mittens" for someone obsessed with Twilight. I did get the cabling down but ran into some trouble when I reached the thumb gusset... I ended up making wrist warmers instead, only to find that they were a bit on the baggy side.... so I frogged them! *sigh*

 

 

I ended up using the same yarn and knitting a scarf instead... it was a very sad day for me, but I dredged through it and came out with a nice enough ribbed scarf.

Ever since then, I have been dieing to try my hand at my first cabled project. I know I won't be trying mittens again anytime soon but the thought of something cabled for fall is very attractive!

We've Got Some Work To Do Now: Velma The Zombie Slayer

Velma Dinkley A.K.A Mistress of NearSightedness. Most noted for her intelligence, Velma has had several incarnations, this being my favorite. Little is known of what or whom Velma and Scooby are prepared to obliterate. Werewolves, Witches, Vampires, Zombies, Ghosts.... All of the above? Look at it this way, if Scooby's "Scooby Snack" is an actual body part of the walking dead variety, you know they mean business!

The original version of Velma wears orange from head to toe, huge black rimmed glasses and an ill fitting cowl neck sweater, either of her own making or that of her grannie's.... My kind of girl :)
