GPK: It Doesn't Get Any Grosser Than This

Zombie GPk
1986
If you grew up in the 80's, like I did, then you are probably at least a little familiar with
They were those yucky gross distant relatives of The Cabbage Patch Kids. They were sold in the form of trading cards (which were really stickers) and each card depicted a character with some type of gross habit or abnormality. Oh!, and you could enjoy a nice piece of gum with your purchase :) As if that mattered. These cards were so cool and sought after that you'd have to literally make friends just to trade for the cards (stickers) you wanted...

Cards be damned! I was in love with the word play. each character had themselves a clever name and those clever sons of guns at Topps produced two versions of every card! That is a lot of freaking Gum! My husband and I actually have a pretty large collection of these cards and every now and then we go through them for nostalgic purposes. That's Love Y'all!

It is rumored that there is a new film version in the works. Considering the last attempt in 1987, which has been criticized as the "Worst Film EVER," I hope they come correct!
