Crochet is Back!

This just in! Crochet has made a comeback….

No really. Crochet is BACK!

I, for one, never knew it was ever a thing of the past. My granny made generations of crochet Afghans, my mama knows how to crochet and even my sister crochets. I, on the other hand, do not crochet. I am the black sheep of the family apparently. I find myself admiring crochet time and time again but knitting remains my forte. I stand by my decision to knit, that is, except when I see something beyond the realm of knitting….




Exhibit A) Vogue Knitting, which is like my Cosmopolitan, has just made available a very enticing (special edition no less) Crochet Issue. It is about as common as a Solar Eclipse; the last issue being published in 1994…. Okay, so not exactly Solar Eclipse worthy but infrequent none the less.

Exhibit B) Some of the patterns are what you would expect out of a crochet piece; heavy shell work and granny squares, but some are surprisingly stunning.

Makes me want to start hooking…. Er… crocheting.
